18 Survival Movies That Redefine the Art of Living!
There's something so primal about a great survival movie. It plays on our basic “hunter“ instincts and makes us confront the inner dialogue we all have, the inevitable question we all ask ourselves - would I survive this?
There are few things more inspirational than the triumph of the human spirit, of an underdog story that braves the elements and against all odds lives to tell the tale.
These stories expose our vulnerabilities but also highlight the durability of man. Over the years there have been many such incredible stories that have made us gasp in amazement. Many of these inspiring individuals do not get their story told as a movie or documentary, but luckily for us, some do.
Many of these movies are one-man (or woman) shows. Most have little dialogue and are antithetical to what we expect in our modern-day fast-paced action-packed cinema. To me, this speaks volumes to the fact that a gripping story told by a great actor and a creative director can be extremely dramatic and that most of the drama occurs in the white space, in the implicit rather than the explicit or overt.
So I collected 18 movies that will get your heart racing and leave your butts glued to the couch.
Enjoy!
Jungle

Summary: The incredible story of Yossi Ghinsberg who was stranded in an uncharted part of the Bolivian Amazon jungle for three weeks in 1981.
Inspired by the book Papillon by Henri Charriere, in 1981 Yossi decided he wanted to find his own adventure.
In Bolivia, Yossi (played by Daniel Radcliffe) met a mysterious Austrian who claimed to be a geologist. This man offered to take Yossi and his new friends deep into the jungle, with the promise of seeing the indigenous tribes who lived there undisturbed.
This journey would forever change the lives of all who were involved.
